We are the team from Cafe Lang. Hospitality is in our blood – just as we live it at Afghan Anar. Here at Limmatplatz, we've created a place where traditional cuisine meets oriental hospitality. Swiss coziness and Afghan warmth. What began at Afghan Anar as a love for Afghan cuisine has grown into something bigger here – a café that builds bridges between cultures, flavors, and people. Here, regulars meet the curious, neighbors meet travelers, all united by the joy of good food and genuine encounters.

Small corners for dreaming, a terrace for soaking up sun, a green courtyard for breathing deeply. Café Lang has many faces, but one thing remains the same: You can stay as long as you like. Whether you come alone with a book, ring in the evening with friends, or brunch with family – every corner of our café has its own story. The terrace transforms throughout the day: a quiet spot for the first coffee in the morning, a lively meeting place at noon, a stage for relaxed conversations in the evening. Our green courtyard is the heart – an oasis in the middle of the city, where the most beautiful moments arise between plants and under the open sky.
Cooked from the Heart
Everything here is handmade: the samosas shaped and folded, the hummus ground in the mortar, the doughs freshly kneaded in the morning. Simple dishes, but with the care of yesteryear. No ready-made products, just honest handwork and time. The ground meat for the Tätschli is freshly ground daily, the sauces simmer for hours.
We don't just cook with ingredients, but with stories, traditions, and the passion of our suppliers. From the morning Birchermüesli mix to the evening apéro platter – everything is created here, in our kitchen, with our hands. You can taste it in every bite.
